We begin our journey in the city of Dublin, one of the most laid back and friendly cities you will ever visit. The two days we spend here will include visits to many of the historic spots that the city is known for: the Trinity Library, the River Liffey, the Book of Kells, and the first of perhaps one hundred St. Patrick’s cathedrals and churches in the country. But there is much more in the parks and small streets of the city that will draw us in and provide photographic delights. And the pub grub is some of the best to be found in the Republic!

For the next two days we will wander through the back roads of the Midlands as we explore some of the natural sites in the Wicklow Mountains and Ireland Photo Galleryhead west. The Rock of Cashel, Powerscourt and Glendalough will be visited as well as many, many kilometers of small country roads and villages with charm and photographic possibilities. Places that are seldom visited by even the intrepid explorer, and never seen from the windows of a bus are part of our discovery tour.

Finally we arrive at the inspirational coast! The balance of our journey is the exploration of the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, the Connemara and the Murrisk regions of the West. We will also take in the stunning Cliffs of Moher and the Burren as we search for the best of this wild and very unique coast. We will visit many of the icons of the region as we do on all of our tours, but we will also travel farther afield to photograph and visit historic and natural sites that few travelers ever see, especially in the Burren and Connemara. This is a rich and visually spectacular region for anyone with an artistic persuasion, especially photographers.

As we make our way back to Dublin we will leave the beaten path again and visit a few of the historic villages and castles in the Lakes Region of the East. The last memories that we will have of Ireland from this region will be as significant as those from the West in the form of quiet peacefulness. We will continue on to Dublin and after getting settled, head to our favorite pub, Fagan’s, for a wonderful epicurean dinner and perhaps a pint of Guinness to celebrate the capture of so many incredible images from this beautiful emerald isle.
